L'ésser humà no s'havia enfrontat mai a quelcom així.
It's up to you to save the world
How can you become a saviour of the planet? Well, there's no need to fly or climb walls. And you don't need to be a millionaire like Bruce Wayne either.
With simple gestures you'll be helping to save all the trees and creatures on Earth. And humanity, of course. Even that neighbour you really don't get along with. Yes, that neighbour too.
7 tips to apply 7 days a week:
- Disconnect all appliances that you do not use. Appliances, even if they are switched off, continue to use energy. This is what Endesa calls "phantom consumption". A bad habit that results in completely unnecessary emissions. Forget about your TV standby, unplug your mobile phone charger and turn off the lights or computer when you are not going to use them. By clicking on the switch you will be helping a bear cub grow up strong and healthy in the Picos de Europa.
- Dry your clothes in the sun. We live in one of the countries with the most hours of sunshine in Europe. Dryers generate a large amount of CO2. Think of the star king as your best friend when it comes to removing stains from your clothes.
- Use low-consumption light bulbs. These bulbs cost a little more but consume less energy. Think that the energy consumed by lighting accounts for between 12 and 26% of total household consumption. With this type of bulb you will reduce electricity consumption by to 80% and they last eight times longer!
- Have your thermostat set at 20ºC in winter and 26ºC in summer. For every degree you turn up the heating in winter, or every degree you turn down the air conditioning in summer, your consumption will rise by around 7%. More electricity, more resources, fewer trees, fewer squirrels. Think about them before touching your thermostat.
- Low-consumption appliances. Do you need to buy a washing machine? A refrigerator? Before taking your card out of your wallet check whether the one that has caught your eye is energy-efficient. We usually look at the appliance's price, power and durability and forget to check whether it is efficient and eco-friendly.
- Class A+++ models consume over 45% less energy than D rated models. You have just saved a fawn.
- Keep your home well insulated. But hold on! We don't mean you need to barricade your door or nail planks over the windows. Simply close your doors and windows when you have the heating or air conditioning on. You can also use forms of thermal insulation to maintain the natural heat of your home. A well-insulated house saves between 50% and 90% on heating and air conditioning.
- Wash your clothes at a moderate temperature. Your washing machine accounts for 11.8% of your home's energy consumption. The best thing you can do is use short and cold-wash programmes whenever possible. Also, if your washing machine does not have adjustable load settings you should use it when it is full and at low or moderate temperatures, since most of the energy is used to heat the water. Also, use it in night time bands To this end, Endesa offers you various electricity tariffs which can help you save on your daily consumption.
If you follow all of these tips you will become a first-rate Endesa saviour. And your list of brownie points will not only include having saved a few euros on your bill. There will also be space for the day you helped to build the future.
