What are the Commercialization Companies of Last Resort or CUR?

The term Comercializadora de Último Recurso (CUR) refers to those electricity and/or gas marketing companies that offer regulated tariffs, according to Spanish legislation. It is also known as Comercializadoras de Referencia.

At a glance, we remind you of the two electricity markets that exist in Spain:

Regulated market: this is the one corresponding to the Voluntary Price for the Small Consumer (PVPC). It requires a power equal to or less than 10 kW. It is a price regulated by the Government. This is where the CURs provide supply services.

Free market: each trading company offers its own tariffs to its customers.
